Alberta High School Drama Festival. 

Provincial Festival only 2 Months Away!

Hello all!  Only 2 months to go until we all meet again for three days of excellent theatre and incredible learning opportunities for everyone.  This year the Alberta High School Drama Festival Association’s Provincial Festival will be held from May 10 – 12, 2012 at Red Deer College and I am writing to encourage you to get involved.  Take a show to your zone festival and then come to provincials, whether you won or not!  We have fantastic workshops to offer, three days of excellent performances to watch and the opportunity for our students to get to know other like-minded, creative souls is not one to be missed.  So put us on your calendar, as we would love to welcome you, whether you’re brand new to the experience or a veteran of the festival.

ABOUT US

The Provincial Festival is a One Act Play Festival that celebrates the great theatre that is happening from around province, in our High Schools - Public, Catholic, Private, and Charters. 

In April, schools from around the province participate in their respective ZONES festivals (their local areas), then the Outstanding play(s) bring their production to Red Deer College to showcase their work on the Provincial Festival stage.  



How to participate in your local Zones Festival:

How to  participate in the PROVINCIAL FESTIVAL at Red Deer College:

1) PERFORMERS - If you have won your local ZONES festival and are coming to participate in the festival as the Outstanding Play from your Zones.

2) EDUCATIONAL - If you want to attend with your students as audience and festival participants - just not performing on the stage.

3) AUDIENCE - If you want to attend as an audience member to enjoy the finest High School One Act performances in the province and see the incredible talent our province is developing.
